Visionary biochemist Alexander Shulgin, who is most widely known for popularizing the use of MDMA within the field of psychiatry in the late 70s and early 80s, is widely considered one of the greatest chemists of the 20th century. Shulgin dedicated his life to the advancement of psychedelic research. And boasting a catalogue of over 200 different psychoactive compounds within two classes of chemicals, which he personally discovered, synthesized, and explored, Shulgin will forever be cemented in the roots of this underground research movement. Now nearing the end of his life Alexander and his wife Ann will be featured in a documentary about their lives and pursuits entitled: Dirty Pictures. With very little information regarding the personal life of this legendary psycho-naught, we can only hope that Dirty Pictures will provide us with insight into a mind like no other.
